Expedite is a once-a-day, 2-fluid-ounce nutrition intervention to support wound healing. It contains a highly concentrated blend of the collagen dipeptides prolyl-hydroxyproline (PO) and hydroxyprolyl glycine (OG) plus L-citrulline. These highly active ingredients were carefully selected based on current research to stimulate wound healing.
-
STEP01
CONSUMPTION The 2-fluid-ounce ready-to-drink serving size, just once per day, makes it manageable for both patients and caregivers.
-
STEP02
ABSORPTION Once consumed, Expedite is readily absorbed in the gut to reach the wound site. PO and OG are found to circulate in the bloodstream for more than 4 hours post-ingestion.
-
STEP03
DISTRIBUTION Expedite reaches the wound site with 30 times the PO and OG content when compared to standard collagen supplements.
-
STEP04
PROLIFERATION PO and OG accumulate in the skin where they stimulate fibroblasts to produce dermal extracellular matrix components. Expedite directly affects the proliferative stage of wound healing by stimulating receptors in fibroblasts to produce new collagen.
Dosing and Administration
Oral: One 2-ounce serving daily consumed directly from the bottle or poured into cup depending upon patient preference. No mixing/diluting is required. Expedite may be consumed at room temperature or chilled.
Tube Feeding: Pour one 2-ounce bottle of Expedite into a cup. Mix with 30 mL water, stir to combine/disperse. Syringe mixture and infuse through feeding tube slowly. Flush tube with 30 mL water before and after administration.
* Product dosing should be based on clinical discretion and specific patient need.
Who Should Use Expedite
Expedite is for patients with wounds including:
Pressure injuries (bedsores)
Surgical incisions
Diabetic wounds
Traumatic wounds
Other acute and chronic wounds
Expedite should be used under medical supervision in combination with a proper diet and appropriate topical wound care.
L-Citrulline
The next generation way to stimulate nitric oxide production
L-Citrulline is the more efficient and more powerful way to stimulate nitric oxide production when compared to supplemental arginine.
- L-citrulline is easily absorbed unchanged while ingested L-arginine undergoes first-pass metabolism where 40% is filtered and removed
- L-citrulline is converted to bioavailable arginine in the kidneys
- Arginine stimulates the production of nitric oxide bringing blood flow to the wound site.
